Art, healing and the Soulful Life - Art is medicine
Through academic, metaphysical, mythical, and depth psychology, brain research, and my own personal experience, I learned that trauma is the doorway to one’s instinct, creativity, and soul. My healing journey as an artist and healer started at age sixteen, focusing on nonverbal expressive arts and writing, intuitive mindfulness, theatre movement, dream work, somatic and breathing work, and other holistic, alternative approaches that support deep recovery and integration. All these approaches are “right-brain” creative processes that tell, feel, and heal all the parts of yourself that are frozen and hidden from the conscious mind. This builds trust, safety, and boundaries that ground the whole self instead of breaking down and analyzing pieces that keep one fragmented
This approach is for women who are artists, writers, intuitives, empathics, going through life transitions, are drawn to the mysteries of life
For women ready to dive into the unknown of uncharted emotions and change their lives
Women hungry for self-discovery, renewal, and truth-telling to feel safe in their bodies
Are ready to carve their own path of creativity, emotional and spiritual expression, and break from the past
Healing and needing healing from childhood wounds, addiction, trauma, and chronic illness through personal storytelling, intuitive art, and writing
Mending the wounded soul-spirituality experienced through creativity, nature, and dreams
Exploration of multigenerational family patterns and family history through intuitive, instinctual, and archetypal art
Navigating life-changing events (childhood trauma, death, sexual trauma, divorce, illness) to move forward. Opening to creative callings, nature, and delving into dream images through intuitive storytelling and art to heal and integrate your whole self
For Writers, artists, empathic seekers, creators who desire to live a creative life
But…feel doubt, fear, and resistance
Love the arts, are a seeker, curious and drawn to the mystery of life
Don’t know where to start
Feel stuck
Experiencing a life transition
Are terrified of emotional vulnerability and exposing family secrets
Societal and family guilt: “ You can’t make money as an artist.” “Follow the family business.” “My mother never became an artist. I don’t want to hurt her by being an artist.”
Reiki is an energetic approach. It is one of many. My work is a "medicine bag" of processes that guide, teach, and support a person's creative depth to heal trauma. Trauma is in the body, not the head, and there is a multi-dimensional preparation and a psychological, spiritual-energetic, emotional learning curve for coming into the body to change and heal trauma that is frozen in the body and stuck in the cells and muscles, and hidden in the psyche
